Have you thought about getting into blogging? Are you just entering the blogging world and looking for some tips to get up and going?
Dana Sibilsky’s Tips to Successful and Profitable Blogging offers advice on growing a successful blog. Sibilsky’s writing style makes this 52-page book a nice and easy read. The book is broken down into 8 short chapters, which I am including below so that you can get more of an idea of the book’s content.
- Identifying an Area of Expertise for Your Blog
- Developing a Unique Voice
- Writing Skill Refinement
- Choosing the Best Web Hosting Platform
- Building an Audience
- The Importance of Positive Brand Development and Promotion
- Additional Considerations Concerning the Use of Social Media
- Determining the Best Strategy for Monetizing your Blog
I am all about reader-friendly formatting, and Sibilsky breaks down information into short and manageable chapters, and then sub sections within those chapters. That is a big plus in my book! But not so fast -I do have some issues with the rest of the book’s formatting. The book lacks a table of contents and lacks page numbers. A table of contents would only add an extra page or so to the book, and I think that it would have been worth that page or two. As for page numbers, I have no idea why they would be left out…. Perhaps we will see one or both of these features in a future printing.
But overall, the content is still there, and the book is a worth a read if you are interested in starting a blog, or are new to blogging. If you are a more experienced blogger, you will likely not benefit for anything in this book as it is really geared towards beginners.
