The nice people over at Chewy.com send my little Angel baby a new treat each month, and this month she was received a beautiful kitty sofa! Seriously, check this thing out – it is the most stylish corrugated scratching surface I have ever seen!
I was very eager to see my cute little kitty relax on her new kitty-furniture so I set it out as soon as it arrived. Angel inspected it but did not sit down on it or try scratching it. She sniffed around and walked away. I wasn’t too surprised, since I have experienced this same reaction when I have attempted to purchase her scratching surfaces in the past. I just hoped that this time it would be different. Come on Angel, can’t you see how cute this thing is?
Luckily, the smart creators of this piece of kitty-furniture included a bag of Catit Catnip. As soon as I opened the bag Angel’s eyes lit up! I sprinkled some of the catnip on her new sofa and sat back and waited for contact. She sniffed it out a bit, and then climbed right on it and began scratching. Catit Catnip is magical!
Unfortunately, our super-picky Angel hasn’t used her scratch-tastic kitty sofa much since then, even when I tried to tempt her with the catnip. She still insists on sitting on, and scratching, our actual sofa. Sigh…
But, just because Angel didn’t see how awesome this thing is, that doesn’t mean it isn’t indeed awesome. I checked the product ratings of the Catit Bench Scratcher on Chewy.com and it has 5 out of 5 stars and 54 out of 55 customers would recommend it. So obviously in our case – cover your ears Angel – it’s not the product that is the problem, it’s the cat! 😉
